WTTA MY TV TAMPA BAY is proud to be a part of Tampa Bay. The broadcast signal position of Channel 38 was originally the home of the first TV station on the air in Tampa Bay, WSUN-TV in 1953. In 1970 WSUN-TV signed off for good.
In the late 1980s a new Channel 38 began with the call letters WTTA. In 1991, WTTA Channel 38 began its regular broadcasting schedule, mainly showing classic shows such as "Bonanza" and "The Streets of San Francisco."
In 1999, WTTA's owner, Bay Television entered into a management agreement with Sinclair Broadcast Group, one of the nations largest broadcast companies. In September of 2006 WTTA became MY TV TAMPA BAY, a MyNetworkTV affiliate. MY TV TAMPA BAY is the home of Tampa Bay's favorite syndicated shows like "Seinfield," "Everybody Loves Raymond," and "That 70's Show." Additionally MY TV TAMPA BAY airs Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm and SEC Sports.
